If ordinary people can overcome powerful companies to protect their water in a poor country like El Salvador, imagine what their counterparts can do here.

Maybe this time we can finally ask whether trying to prop up a dying empire actually makes us -- or indeed the world -- any safer. This is the best chance in a generation to start that conversation.

The more U.S. movements are infused with internationalism, the more we contribute to getting Washington’s bloody hands out of other countries. That bolsters the capacity of people in other lands to improve their lives and fight our common enemy.

Everything we thought we knew about drone warfare -- and America’s wars more broadly -- is about to be thrown out the window. Under the circumstances, one thing is predictable: ever more civilians are going to die in America’s wars.
